Ingredients
Scale
Cinnamon Rolls
- 1 canister deluxe refrigerated cinnamon rolls (5 rolls)
Browned Butter Frosting
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 ½ cups confectioners’ sugar
- ¾ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
Toppings
- â…“ cup toasted pecans
Instructions
- Prepare Cinnamon Rolls: Follow the package directions to bake the refrigerated cinnamon rolls. Do not use the icing provided in the package as you will be making a special browned butter frosting.
- Brown the Butter: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, stirring continuously. Continue cooking until the butter turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma. Remove from heat immediately to avoid burning.
- Make the Frosting: Whisk the confectioners’ sugar into the warm browned butter. Add the vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of milk, whisking until the mixture is smooth. If the frosting is too thick, add an additional tablespoon of milk to reach your desired consistency.
- Toast the Pecans: Over low heat in a small skillet, toast the pecans while stirring occasionally until fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Assemble: Drizzle the warm cinnamon rolls generously with the browned butter frosting. Sprinkle the toasted pecans over the top for added texture and flavor.
- Serve: Enjoy the cinnamon rolls warm for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Be sure to watch the butter carefully while browning to prevent burning.
- Adjust the amount of milk in the frosting to your preferred thickness.
- For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the frosting.
- Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for longer storage.
