Description

These Cheeseburger Bowls with Copycat Big Mac Sauce offer a delicious and low-carb twist on the classic burger experience. Featuring seasoned ground beef, fresh veggies, cheddar cheese, and a tangy homemade Big Mac sauce, this easy stovetop recipe comes together in just 35 minutes and is perfect for a satisfying family meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Big Mac Sauce

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle relish
  • 2 Tablespoons finely minced white onion (or dried minced onion)
  • 1 Tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Burger and Bowl

  • 1/2 cup diced white onion
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Chopped romaine lettuce
  • Freshly grated cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • Sliced cherry tomatoes
  • Sliced dill pickles
  • Cooked potato wedges or French fries
  • Sliced red onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Big Mac Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, dill pickle relish, minced onion, yellow mustard, paprika, and garlic powder until smooth and well combined. Cover the bowl tightly and refrigerate to let the flavors meld while preparing the rest of the dish.
  2. Cook the Burger: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the diced white onion and lean ground beef. Cook, stirring and breaking the beef into crumbles, until fully browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease to keep the dish lighter.
  3. Season the Beef: Lower the heat to low, then season the cooked beef mixture with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Stir well and continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes to let the flavors combine and the beef become tender.
  4. Assemble the Bowls: Evenly distribute the cooked beef mixture into 4 medium bowls. Top each bowl with chopped romaine lettuce, freshly grated cheddar cheese, sliced cherry tomatoes, dill pickles, and optional sliced red onion. Add cooked potato wedges or French fries alongside or on top as desired.
  5. Serve with Big Mac Sauce: Drizzle the prepared Big Mac sauce generously over each bowl to add tangy, creamy flavor reminiscent of the classic burger. Serve immediately and enjoy your Cheeseburger Bowls!

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content and grease.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with plant-based crumbles and choose a suitable mayo alternative.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste, especially salt and pepper.
  • You can prepare the Big Mac sauce up to 3 days in advance; store covered in the refrigerator.
  • Try adding extras like sliced jalapeños or shredded lettuce for added texture and heat.
