Description

A refreshing twist on the classic margarita, this Watermelon Margarita combines sweet, juicy watermelon with tangy lime and smooth tequila for the perfect summer cocktail.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon
  • 1/2 cup tequila
  • 1/4 cup triple sec (orange liqueur)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • Ice, for blending and serving
  • Salt or sugar, for rimming glasses (optional)
  • Lime wedges, for garnish
  • Watermelon slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the watermelon cubes in a blender and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher if desired.
  2. Add tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and simple syrup to the watermelon juice. Stir to combine.
  3. Rim glasses with salt or sugar if desired by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping in salt or sugar.
  4. Fill glasses with ice and pour the margarita mixture over the top.
  5. Garnish with lime wedges and watermelon slices. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a frozen version, blend the ingredients with ice until slushy.
  • Adjust sweetness with more or less simple syrup depending on the watermelon’s natural sweetness.
  • Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
