A refreshing twist on the classic margarita, this Watermelon Margarita combines sweet, juicy watermelon with tangy lime and smooth tequila for the perfect summer cocktail.

- 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon
- 1/2 cup tequila
- 1/4 cup triple sec (orange liqueur)
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
- 1 tablespoon simple syrup (optional, to taste)
- Ice, for blending and serving
- Salt or sugar, for rimming glasses (optional)
- Lime wedges, for garnish
- Watermelon slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Place the watermelon cubes in a blender and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher if desired.
- Add tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and simple syrup to the watermelon juice. Stir to combine.
- Rim glasses with salt or sugar if desired by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping in salt or sugar.
- Fill glasses with ice and pour the margarita mixture over the top.
- Garnish with lime wedges and watermelon slices. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a frozen version, blend the ingredients with ice until slushy.
- Adjust sweetness with more or less simple syrup depending on the watermelon’s natural sweetness.
- Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
