Ingredients
Scale
Bread and Garlic Butter
- 1 baguette or French bread (sliced in half lengthwise)
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
Shrimp and Cheese Mixture
- 1 cup cooked shrimp (peeled, deveined, and chopped)
- 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 green onion (sliced)
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Bread: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with the minced garlic and chopped parsley. Spread this garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves of the bread and place them cut side up on a baking sheet.
- Make Shrimp and Cheese Mixture: In another bowl, combine the chopped cooked shrimp, softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded mozzarella, shredded cheddar, grated Parmesan, sliced green onion, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Assemble and Bake: Evenly spread the shrimp and cheese mixture over the buttered bread halves. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the edges of the bread turn golden brown.
- Broil for Crispiness: For a crispier top, broil the bread for an additional 1–2 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
- Serve: Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then slice into portions and serve warm for best enjoyment.
Notes
- Use pre-cooked shrimp for convenience or sauté raw shrimp in garlic butter until pink before mixing.
- Add a squeeze of lemon juice or a dash of hot sauce before serving for extra brightness or heat.
- To make it spicier, add extra red pepper flakes to the shrimp mixture.
- Use a crusty baguette for best texture that holds up under the creamy topping.
