Ingredients
Scale
Sausage and Potatoes
- 1 pound smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 1 1/2 pounds baby potatoes, halved
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Glaze
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Garnish
- Chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare baking sheet: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Toss potatoes: In a large bowl, combine the halved baby potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss until the potatoes are evenly coated. Spread them out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Roast potatoes: Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast the potatoes for 20 minutes, allowing them to begin softening and browning.
- Make the glaze: While the potatoes roast, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, honey or maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and soy sauce. Let the mixture simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until it thickens slightly, then remove the glaze from heat.
- Add sausage and glaze: After 20 minutes, remove the baking sheet from the oven. Add the sliced sausage to the potatoes and drizzle the glaze over everything. Toss gently to ensure the potatoes and sausage are well coated with the glaze.
- Finish roasting: Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 20 to 25 minutes. Stir once halfway through cooking to promote even caramelization. Cook until potatoes are golden and tender, and the sausage is caramelized and heated through.
- Garnish and serve: Remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving warm.
