Description

A sweet and fruity twist on classic popcorn, this Strawberry Popcorn is perfect for parties, movie nights, or as a fun snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 cups plain popped popcorn
  • 1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry-flavored gelatin
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the popped popcorn in a large bowl and remove any unpopped kernels.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the strawberry gelatin and vanilla extract until dissolved.
  5. Quickly pour the mixture over the popcorn and stir to coat evenly.
  6. Spread the coated popcorn onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to prevent clumping.
  8. Remove from oven and sprinkle crushed freeze-dried strawberries over the popcorn while it’s still warm.
  9. Let cool completely before serving or storing.

Notes

  • You can use strawberry extract for a stronger flavor if desired.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • Try drizzling with white chocolate for an extra treat.
