Description

This speedy chili crisp breakfast tortilla wrap is a spicy, savory, and satisfying start to your day. Packed with fluffy scrambled eggs, melty cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese, and crispy, flavorful chili crisp oil, it offers bold flavor and a comforting texture. Ready in just 10 minutes, it’s quick to make and easy to customize with your favorite fillings—all wrapped in a warm, golden flour tortilla for a perfect handheld breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale

Wrap & Eggs

  • 1 large flour tortilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk or water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil

Fillings & Toppings

  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chili crisp (plus more for drizzling)
  • 1/4 avocado, sliced (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped scallions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the eggs: In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk or water, salt, and pepper until fully combined and slightly frothy.
  2. Cook the scrambled eggs: Heat the butter or oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture and gently scramble with a spatula, stirring slowly until the eggs are just set but still soft and fluffy.
  3. Warm the tortilla: Warm the flour tortilla in a dry skillet for a few seconds on each side or microwave for about 10 seconds until pliable and warm.
  4. Assemble the wrap: Lay the warm tortilla flat and place the scrambled eggs in the center. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the eggs, drizzle 1 tablespoon of chili crisp on top, and add optional avocado slices and scallions if using.
  5. Wrap it up: Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it tightly like a burrito to enclose the fillings completely.
  6. Optional crisping: For a golden, crisp exterior, return the assembled wrap to the skillet seam-side down and cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side over medium heat until the tortilla is toasted and slightly crunchy.
  7. Serve: Slice the wrap in half if desired, drizzle additional chili crisp on top for extra heat, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of chili crisp depending on how spicy you like your wrap.
  • Add cooked bacon, sausage, or sautéed vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for a more filling breakfast.
  • Use dairy-free cheese and vegan chili crisp to make the wrap vegan-friendly.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute the flour tortilla with a gluten-free tortilla variety.
