Description

Southern Pimento Cheese is a creamy, tangy, and slightly spicy cheese spread made with sharp cheddar, mayonnaise, and pimentos. It’s perfect as a dip, sandwich filling, or topping.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 (4 oz) jar diced pimentos, drained
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, and drained pimentos.
  2. Add garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper if using.
  3. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • Use extra-sharp cheddar for a bolder flavor.
  • Add diced jalapeƱos for extra heat.
  • Serve with crackers, celery sticks, or on bread as a sandwich spread.
