- 2 large cucumbers, thinly sliced
- 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Peel and thinly slice the cucumbers and red onion.
- In a large bowl, whisk together sour cream, vinegar, sugar, dill, salt, and pepper.
- Add the sliced cucumbers and onions to the bowl and toss to coat evenly with the dressing.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled as a side dish.
Notes
- Use English cucumbers for fewer seeds and thinner skin.
- For extra tang, add a splash of lemon juice.
- This dish tastes best after chilling for a few hours.
