Description

These soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies are packed with gooey chocolate chips and have the perfect balance of crisp edges and a tender center.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture and beat until just incorporated.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but centers are still soft.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • You can freeze dough balls for later baking.
