- 4 cups fresh or frozen corn kernels
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, to taste)
- 1/4 cup chopped onion (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter.
- Once the butter is melted, add the chopped onion (if using) and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Add the corn kernels to the skillet and stir well to combine.
- Cook the corn for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it begins to brown slightly and is tender.
- If using, stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Season with salt, pepper, and sugar (if using) to taste.
- Remove from heat and serve warm.
Notes
- Fresh corn is best, but frozen or canned corn can be used as well.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of smoked paprika or a dash of hot sauce.
- Can be made ahead and reheated in a skillet or microwave.
