Ingredients
Scale
Caramel Pecan Topping
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Cinnamon Rolls
- 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing included
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and allow for easy serving later.
- Mix Caramel Topping: In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, heavy cream, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well incorporated.
- Assemble Baking Dish: Pour the caramel mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the caramel layer.
- Arrange Cinnamon Rolls: Carefully place the refrigerated cinnamon rolls evenly over the caramel and pecan mixture, spacing them so they can expand during baking.
- Bake Rolls: Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Cool and Invert: Remove the rolls from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes. Then, carefully invert the baking dish onto a large serving platter so that the caramel pecan topping is on top of the rolls.
- Add Icing and Serve: Drizzle the included icing over the warm rolls and serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
- For extra richness, add 1 tablespoon of maple syrup to the caramel mixture before pouring.
- If the tops of the rolls brown too quickly, loosely cover the dish with aluminum foil during the last 10 minutes of baking.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days and reheat before serving.
