Scale
Seafood Mixture
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound crab meat
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Cheese and Sauces
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 cups marinara sauce
Pasta
- 9 lasagna noodles
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the lasagna.
- Cook Lasagna Noodles: Boil the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic and Shrimp: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, then add shrimp and cook until they turn pink.
- Add Crab and Season: Stir in the crab meat along with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for an additional 2 minutes until combined and heated through.
- Layer Sauce: Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce evenly on the bottom of a baking dish.
- First Layer of Noodles: Arrange 3 cooked lasagna noodles over the marinara sauce layer.
- Add Ricotta and Seafood: Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the noodles, then evenly distribute half of the seafood mixture on top, followed by a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat Layers: Repeat the layering process with another 3 noodles, the remaining ricotta cheese, the rest of the seafood mixture, and mozzarella cheese.
- Top Layers: Finish by placing the last 3 noodles on top, spreading the remaining marinara sauce, then sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the surface.
- Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes to allow flavors to meld and the cheese to melt.
- Uncover and Finish Baking: Remove the foil and continue baking for another 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown on top.
Notes
- For best results, reserve some pasta water when boiling noodles to loosen the sauce if needed during layering.
- To avoid overcooked seafood, do not cook shrimp and crab for too long when sautéing.
- Allow the lasagna to rest for 10 minutes after baking before slicing to help it set and hold together.
- Use fresh Parmesan cheese for a more flavorful top layer.
- You can substitute crab meat with imitation crab for a budget-friendly option.
