Description

Scalloped corn is a comforting and creamy side dish made with sweet corn, eggs, milk, and breadcrumbs, baked until golden and slightly crisp on top. It’s a classic addition to holiday meals or everyday dinners.

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine corn, beaten eggs, milk, and melted butter.
  3. Stir in crushed crackers or breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and sugar (if using).
  4. Add chopped onions and shredded cheese if desired, and mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.
