Description

A quick and hearty one-pan meal made with savory sausage and tender cabbage, perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  5. Stir in chopped cabbage, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender. Add chicken broth if needed to prevent sticking.
  6. Return sausage to the skillet and mix well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  7. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use kielbasa, andouille, or any smoked sausage of choice.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat.
  • This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
