Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup red, white, and blue M&Ms (plus extra for topping)

3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.

Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.

Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just incorporated.

Fold in the M&Ms and chocolate chips.

Spread the dough evenly in the prepared pan. Press a few extra M&Ms on top for decoration.

Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let cool completely in the pan before slicing into bars.
