Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 30 seconds to form a roux.
- Slowly pour in the milk while whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
- Continue cooking and stirring until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and herbs if using.
- Cook for another minute until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
