These Prosciutto and Brie Upside-Down Pastries are a deliciously elegant appetizer featuring flaky puff pastry, savory prosciutto, creamy brie, and a touch of honey and herbs. Perfect for entertaining or a special treat.

- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 6 slices prosciutto
- 4 oz brie cheese, sliced
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin or baking sheet with olive oil.
- Cut the puff pastry sheet into 6 equal squares.
- Drizzle a small amount of honey and sprinkle thyme leaves into each greased muffin cup or area on the baking sheet.
- Place a slice of prosciutto on top of the honey and thyme.
- Add a slice of brie over the prosciutto.
- Place a puff pastry square over each stack and tuck the edges in gently.
- Brush the top of the pastry with egg wash.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden and puffed.
- Allow to cool slightly, then gently invert to reveal the caramelized tops.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- You can substitute brie with camembert for a similar texture and flavor.
- Try adding a thin slice of pear or fig for a sweet contrast.
- Best served warm straight out of the oven.
