Description

Pizza Pasta Casserole is a hearty and comforting dish that combines the flavors of pizza with the satisfying texture of pasta, baked together with gooey cheese and savory toppings.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz rotini pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or pizza sauce
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the rotini pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in marinara or pizza sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked pasta, meat sauce, half of the pepperoni, green bell pepper, black olives, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Mix well.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and the rest of the pepperoni.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Customize toppings with mushrooms, onions, or sausage as desired.
  • Use whole wheat pasta for a healthier option.
  • Can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
