A deliciously comforting dessert made with crescent roll dough, fresh apples, and a buttery cinnamon-sugar sauce, made famous by the Pioneer Woman.

- 2 whole Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 8 slices each
- 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 can (12 oz) Mountain Dew
- Optional: vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Wrap each apple slice in a crescent roll triangle and place in the prepared baking dish.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the sugar and vanilla. Pour the mixture over the apple dumplings.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Pour the Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan and over the dumplings (avoid pouring directly on top).
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
