Ingredients
Scale
Fruit and Juice
- 4 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
Sweetener and Liquids
- 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
Garnishes
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
- Peach slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the peaches: Thoroughly rinse the peaches under running water to remove any dirt or residue.
- Prepare peaches: Slice the peaches in half and remove the pits. Then cut the peach halves into smaller slices for easier blending.
- Blend peaches: Place the sliced peaches into a blender, optionally adding a tablespoon of water to help achieve a smoother texture. Blend on high speed for 30 seconds to one minute until smooth.
- Strain peach puree: Pour the blended peach mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or pitcher. Use a spatula to press and extract as much juice as possible, removing pulp and skin.
- Juice lemons: Roll lemons on the countertop to release juices, then squeeze to extract about 1 cup of lemon juice. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp.
- Mix lemonade base: In a separate pitcher, combine the lemon juice and granulated sugar. Stir well until the sugar fully dissolves.
- Add water: Pour in the 4 cups of cold water and stir to mix thoroughly.
- Combine peach and lemonade: Add the strained peach puree to the lemonade mixture and stir gently until fully incorporated.
- Adjust sweetness: Taste the peach lemonade and add more sugar if desired, or dilute with additional water if too tart.
- Chill: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the drink to chill.
- Serve: Fill glasses three-quarters full with ice cubes and pour in the chilled peach lemonade.
- Garnish: Add fresh peach slices and mint leaves to each glass if desired for an extra fresh touch.
Notes
- Adjust sugar quantity based on the sweetness of peaches and personal preference.
- Straining the peach puree ensures a smooth beverage without pulp but can be skipped if a more textured drink is preferred.
- For a sparkling version, substitute cold water with sparkling water.
- This lemonade tastes best chilled; make sure to refrigerate sufficiently before serving.
- Leftover peach lemonade can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
