- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp orange zest (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the base ingredients: In a medium bowl or jar, whisk together the fresh orange juice, vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey (or maple syrup), salt, pepper, and optional orange zest until well blended.
- Emulsify the dressing: Slowly drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil while whisking continuously to create a smooth, emulsified vinaigrette.
- Adjust seasoning: Taste the dressing and add extra salt, pepper, or sweetness as desired to balance the flavors.
- Store and serve: Transfer the vinaigrette to an airtight jar and refrigerate for up to one week. Shake well before each use to recombine ingredients.
