Description

A bright and zesty orange vinaigrette made with fresh orange juice, tangy vinegar, and a touch of honey, perfect for salads, grain bowls, or as a flavorful marinade. This easy-to-whisk dressing offers a refreshing citrus flavor with a smooth, emulsified texture.

Ingredients

Scale

Vinaigrette Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice (from 1–2 oranges)
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp orange zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the base ingredients: In a medium bowl or jar, whisk together the fresh orange juice, vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey (or maple syrup), salt, pepper, and optional orange zest until well blended.
  2. Emulsify the dressing: Slowly drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil while whisking continuously to create a smooth, emulsified vinaigrette.
  3. Adjust seasoning: Taste the dressing and add extra salt, pepper, or sweetness as desired to balance the flavors.
  4. Store and serve: Transfer the vinaigrette to an airtight jar and refrigerate for up to one week. Shake well before each use to recombine ingredients.

Notes

  • Excellent on spinach salads, mixed greens, or grain bowls.
  • Also works as a flavorful marinade for chicken or seafood.
  • For a twist in flavor and color, try using blood oranges instead of regular oranges.
