Description

Mexican Pinwheels are a colorful and flavorful appetizer made with tortillas rolled up with a creamy, spiced filling of cream cheese, salsa, and veggies—perfect for parties, potlucks, or make-ahead snacks.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 5 large flour tortillas
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chunky salsa, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tsp taco seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, salsa, shredded cheese, bell pepper, olives, green onions, taco seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Spread a generous layer of the mixture evenly over each tortilla.
  3. Roll each tortilla tightly into a log and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill for at least 1 hour to firm up.
  4. Unwrap and slice each roll into 1-inch pinwheels. Arrange on a platter and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Drain salsa well to prevent soggy tortillas.
  • Make a day ahead and refrigerate until ready to slice and serve.
  • Customize with cooked shredded chicken or jalapeños for added protein or heat.
