Description

A savory and sweet breakfast sandwich made with flaky croissants, eggs, cheese, and a delicious maple mustard sauce. Perfect for a quick morning treat or brunch favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 croissants, halved
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices of cooked bacon or ham (optional)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix Dijon mustard and maple syrup to create the sauce. Set aside.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Crack eggs into the skillet and cook to desired doneness. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Slice croissants in half and lightly toast them.
  5. Spread maple mustard sauce on the cut sides of the croissants.
  6. Place a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each croissant.
  7. Top with cooked egg and bacon or ham if using.
  8. Place the top half of the croissant on each sandwich and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use plant-based cheese and skip meat for a vegetarian version.
  • Try adding arugula or spinach for a fresh touch.
  • The sauce can be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to a week.
