Description

Maple Ginger Beef is a sweet and savory stir-fry dish made with tender beef strips glazed in a sticky maple and fresh ginger sauce, perfect served over rice or noodles.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss sliced beef with cornstarch until evenly coated. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes if using. Set the sauce aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and crisp. Work in batches if needed.
  4. Return all beef to the skillet. Pour in the maple ginger sauce and stir to coat.
  5. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens and glazes the beef.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  7. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, substitute beef with tofu or tempeh.
  • Adjust maple syrup for sweetness or add more soy sauce for saltiness.
  • This dish is great for meal prep and reheats well.
