Description

A unique and refreshing twist on traditional pizza, Lemon Pizza features a zesty lemon flavor paired with creamy cheese and fresh herbs for a light and delicious experience.


Ingredients

  • 1 prepared pizza dough
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced and seeds removed
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  3. In a small bowl, mix olive oil and minced garlic. Brush the mixture over the rolled-out dough.
  4. Spread ricotta cheese evenly over the dough, then layer with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  5. Arrange the thin lemon slices evenly over the cheese layer.
  6. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  7. Transfer the pizza onto the hot stone or baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • Use Meyer lemons for a sweeter, less tart flavor.
  • A mandoline helps achieve evenly thin lemon slices.
  • Add arugula on top after baking for a peppery bite.
