Brownie Batter
- 1 box Brownie mix
- 2 large Eggs
- 1/2 cup Oil
- 1/4 cup Water
Frosting
- 2 large Egg whites
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon Cream of tartar
- 2 cups Powdered sugar
- 1 tube Blue gel food coloring
- 1 tube Red gel food coloring
- 1 tube Green gel food coloring
Decoration
- 1 cup Blue M&M’s
- 1 cup Red M&M’s
- 1 cup Green M&M’s
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven according to the brownie mix package instructions to ensure the perfect baking temperature.
- Prepare Brownie Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, 2 large eggs, 1/2 cup oil, and 1/4 cup water. Stir the mixture until it becomes smooth and fully blended.
- Bake the Brownies: Pour the batter into a greased baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake as per the package instructions until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Whip Egg Whites: While the brownies bake or cool, whisk 2 large egg whites in a clean bowl until stiff peaks form, ensuring the frosting will be light and fluffy.
- Add Flavor and Stabilizer: Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar to the whipped egg whites, gently mixing to stabilize the peaks.
- Make Frosting: Gradually incorporate 2 cups powdered sugar into the egg white mixture, beating continuously to create a smooth and glossy frosting.
- Color the Frosting: Divide the frosting evenly into three separate bowls. Add blue gel food coloring to one, red to the second, and green to the third bowl. Mix each until the colors are vibrant and uniform.
- Frost the Brownies: Once the brownies have cooled completely, spread the colored frostings on top in desired patterns or sections to resemble LEGO colors.
- Decorate with M&M’s: Sprinkle the blue, red, and green M&M’s over their respective colored frosting sections to complete the colorful, playful look.
Notes
- Ensure the brownies are completely cooled before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
- Use gel food coloring for vibrant hues without changing frosting consistency.
- You can customize the decorations with other candies if M&M’s are unavailable.
- For safety, use pasteurized egg whites or meringue powder if concerned about raw egg whites in frosting.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
