Description

A quick and easy take on traditional lasagna, this Lazy Lasagna Casserole is made with layers of pasta, marinara sauce, ground beef, and cheese — no tedious layering required.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 12 oz rotini or penne pasta
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add marinara sauce and Italian seasoning to the beef. Simmer for 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked pasta, meat sauce, and ricotta cheese. Mix well.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or sausage.
  • Make it vegetarian by skipping the meat and adding sautéed vegetables.
  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
