- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Flavorings
- 2–3 jalapeños (seeded and finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ cup chopped green onions or chives (optional)
Toppings (Optional)
- Crushed tortilla chips or breadcrumbs for topping
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the dip.
- Mix Base Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth and creamy, ensuring no lumps remain.
- Add Cheeses and Seasonings: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan, finely chopped jalapeños, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Prepare for Baking: Transfer the blended mixture into a small baking dish and spread it evenly with a spatula to create a uniform layer.
- Add Toppings: Sprinkle crushed tortilla chips or breadcrumbs over the top if desired to add a crunchy texture after baking.
- Bake the Dip: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and golden brown on top.
- Cool and Garnish: Remove the dip from the oven and let it cool slightly to thicken. Garnish with chopped green onions or chives if using.
- Serve: Serve the dip warm with crackers, chips, or vegetable sticks for dipping. Alternatively, you can chill it for at least 30 minutes and serve cold for a milder flavor.
Notes
- For a spicier dip, leave some jalapeño seeds in the mixture or add a dash of hot sauce.
- You can serve this dip cold as well—simply skip the baking step and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- If you want a gluten-free option, use gluten-free crushed tortilla chips or omit the toppings.
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to ensure smooth mixing.
