Description

A flavorful and spicy twist on roasted cauliflower, this Hot Honey Roasted Cauliflower recipe combines crispy roasted florets with a sweet and spicy honey glaze, perfect as a side dish or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

Cauliflower

  • 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Hot Honey Glaze

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for roasting the cauliflower.
  2. Season Cauliflower: In a large bowl, toss the cauliflower florets with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until they are evenly coated with all the seasonings.
  3. Roast Cauliflower: Spread the cauliflower in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the florets are golden and crispy.
  4. Make Hot Honey Glaze: While the cauliflower is roasting, combine honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir continuously until the mixture is warm and fully combined, forming a smooth glaze.
  5. Glaze the Cauliflower: Remove the roasted cauliflower from the oven and drizzle the hot honey glaze over it. Toss well to coat all the florets evenly with the sweet and spicy glaze.
  6. Caramelize Glaze: Return the glazed cauliflower to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to allow the glaze to caramelize and deepen in flavor.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Take the cauliflower out of the oven, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and serve immediately while warm and flavorful.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce and red pepper flakes depending on your spice preference.
  • Use fresh parsley for the best garnish flavor and appearance.
  • For extra crispiness, spread the cauliflower florets without overlapping on the baking sheet.
  • This dish pairs well with grains like quinoa or as a side to grilled meats.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
