Description

Honey Garlic Asian Chicken Kabobs are a delicious grilled dish featuring marinated chicken and vegetables in a sweet and savory honey garlic soy sauce.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 red onion, cut into chunks
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to make the marinade.
  2. Place the chicken cubes in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour in the marinade. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably 2-3 hours.
  3. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated chicken, bell peppers, and onion pieces onto the skewers alternately.
  6. Grill the kabobs for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Marinate longer for more flavor.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F internally.
  • Can be baked or cooked on a grill pan if grill is not available.
