Scale
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp white sugar
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Mix until smooth but do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Pour or scoop about 1/4 cup of the batter onto the griddle for each pancake.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges are dry, about 2-3 minutes.
- Flip and cook the other side until browned and cooked through, about 1-2 minutes more.
- Serve warm with syrup, butter, or your favorite toppings.
Notes
- Do not overmix the batter to keep pancakes fluffy.
- Let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes for even softer pancakes.
- Use buttermilk instead of milk for extra tang and tenderness.
- Top with fresh berries or whipped cream for added flavor.
