Description

Grilled watermelon is a unique and refreshing twist on a summer favorite, bringing out a subtle sweetness and smoky flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small seedless watermelon, cut into 1-inch thick wedges
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Brush both sides of the watermelon wedges with olive oil.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the watermelon wedges on the grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until grill marks appear and the watermelon is slightly softened.
  5. Remove from grill and drizzle with lime juice if using.
  6. Sprinkle with chopped mint and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Choose a firm, seedless watermelon for best results.
  • Grilled watermelon pairs well with feta cheese or balsamic glaze for a savory twist.
  • Serve as a side dish or light appetizer during summer gatherings.
