Description

Grilled Chicken Souvlaki is a classic Greek dish made with marinated chicken skewers, grilled to perfection and typically served with pita, tzatziki, and fresh vegetables.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, vinegar, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add chicken pieces to the marinade and mix to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably 2–4 hours.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread marinated chicken pieces onto skewers.
  5. Grill chicken skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  6. Remove from grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
  • Serve with tzatziki, pita bread, and a side salad for a complete meal.
  • Chicken thighs can be used for juicier skewers.
