Description

Juicy Greek-style burgers stuffed with feta cheese and topped with refreshing homemade tzatziki sauce, perfect for a Mediterranean twist on classic burgers.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and squeezed
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt (for tzatziki)
  • Lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion rings for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, red onion, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal patties.
  3. Place a spoonful of feta in the center of 4 patties and top with the remaining patties, sealing edges well.
  4. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook burgers for 5-6 minutes per side or until cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare tzatziki by mixing grated cucumber, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, dill, olive oil, and salt in a bowl.
  6. Toast burger buns if desired.
  7. Assemble burgers with lettuce, tomato, red onion, a stuffed patty, and a generous spoonful of tzatziki.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Make sure to seal the patties well to prevent cheese from leaking.
  • For a leaner option, use ground turkey or chicken.
  • Let the tzatziki sit in the fridge for at least 10 minutes to enhance flavor.
