Description

A gourmet twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, this recipe combines tangy goat cheese, sweet honey, and a hint of spice for a deliciously unique flavor experience.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 slices of sourdough or artisan bread
  • 4 oz goat cheese, softened
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Spread the goat cheese evenly on two slices of bread.
  2. Drizzle honey over the goat cheese and sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes.
  3. Top with the remaining slices of bread to make two sandwiches.
  4. Spread softened butter on the outside of each slice of bread.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes per side or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a few arugula leaves before grilling.
  • Adjust the spice level by using more or less red pepper flakes.
  • Pairs well with tomato soup or a side salad.
