Description

A gourmet twist on the classic grilled cheese, featuring creamy goat cheese, sweet honey, and a hint of spice, all melted between two crispy, buttery slices of bread.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 slices of sourdough or artisan bread
  • 4 oz goat cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • Optional: pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  2. On the unbuttered side of two slices, spread goat cheese evenly.
  3. Drizzle honey over the goat cheese and sprinkle with red pepper flakes.
  4. Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side out.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place sandwiches in skillet and cook until golden brown on one side, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Flip and cook the other side until golden and cheese is warm and melty, another 3-4 minutes.
  7. Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a few arugula leaves before grilling.
  • Try adding a sprinkle of cracked black pepper for an additional kick.
  • Use a panini press for an evenly crisped sandwich.
