- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth for vegetarian)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in the orzo and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to toast slightly.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese and heavy cream until well combined and creamy.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
