- 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream
- 2 cups cornflakes, crushed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon milk
- Oil for deep frying
- Honey or chocolate syrup, for topping (optional)
- Whipped cream and cherries, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Scoop the ice cream into balls and freeze for at least 1 hour until very firm.
- In a bowl, mix crushed cornflakes and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, beat eggs with milk.
- Roll each ice cream ball in the cornflake mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and roll again in the cornflake mixture for a thick coating.
- Freeze the coated ice cream balls for at least 2 hours or until very hard.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy saucepan to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry each ice cream ball for 10–15 seconds until golden brown. Do not overcook.
- Remove and serve immediately with honey, syrup, whipped cream, or cherries as desired.
Notes
- You can substitute cornflakes with crushed cookies or graham crackers.
- Work quickly to prevent the ice cream from melting.
- Freeze multiple times to ensure the coating sticks well.
