Description

Savory and melty French Dip Sliders made with roast beef, Swiss cheese, and caramelized onions on slider buns, served with a warm au jus dipping sauce.


Ingredients

  • 12 slider buns
  • 1 lb deli roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter (for onions)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 packet au jus mix
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp butter and cook onions until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Slice slider buns in half horizontally and place bottom halves in a greased baking dish.
  4. Layer roast beef evenly over the buns, followed by caramelized onions and Swiss cheese slices.
  5. Place top halves of buns over the cheese layer.
  6. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Brush mixture over the tops of the buns.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 5 minutes until tops are golden brown.
  8. While sliders bake, prepare au jus mix with water according to package instructions.
  9. Serve sliders warm with au jus on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Use provolone or mozzarella if preferred over Swiss cheese.
  • Can be prepared a few hours in advance and baked when ready to serve.
  • Serve with a side salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
