Description

Fireball Chicken is a bold, spicy-sweet dish made with crispy chicken pieces tossed in a fiery sauce made with Fireball whiskey, hot sauce, and brown sugar. Perfect for game day or a flavorful dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup Fireball whiskey
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper and coat them evenly with cornstarch.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in Fireball whiskey, hot sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Add cooked chicken back to the pan and toss to coat evenly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the hot sauce and red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
  • Serve over rice or with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Can be made with chicken thighs for a juicier result.
