- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup Fireball whiskey
- 1/4 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper and coat them evenly with cornstarch.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in Fireball whiskey, hot sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add cooked chicken back to the pan and toss to coat evenly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the hot sauce and red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
- Serve over rice or with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
- Can be made with chicken thighs for a juicier result.
