Description

A quick and comforting Chinese soup featuring tender wontons in a savory broth, perfect for a light lunch or dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1216 frozen or fresh wontons
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 cup baby spinach or bok choy, chopped
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring the chicken broth and water to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Reduce heat to medium and add the wontons. Simmer for 4-5 minutes if using fresh, or 6-8 minutes if using frozen, until they float and are fully cooked.
  4. Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil.
  5. Add chopped spinach or bok choy and cook for 1-2 minutes until wilted.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
