Description

This Easy Philly Cheese Steak Casserole is a hearty, low-carb twist on the classic sandwich. Loaded with tender beef, bell peppers, onions, and melted cheese, it’s perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and bell peppers, cooking until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up with a spatula.
  4. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and paprika. Stir in the cream cheese and sour cream until well combined and creamy.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top evenly with shredded mozzarella and provolone cheeses.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with sliced ribeye for a more authentic taste.
  • For added flavor, try sautéing mushrooms with the peppers and onions.
  • This dish is great for meal prep and can be refrigerated for up to 4 days.
