Description

This easy lasagna recipe is a hearty and comforting dish layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella cheese. Perfect for a family dinner or meal prep.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add marinara sauce to the beef and stir to combine. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Layer 3 lasagna noodles, followed by 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, 1/3 of the meat sauce, and 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers two more times.
  8. Top with Parmesan cheese.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use oven-ready noodles to save time.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter version.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for extra vegetables.
