Description

A quick and flavorful dish, Easy Beef Teriyaki features tender slices of beef coated in a savory and sweet teriyaki sauce, perfect for a weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 green onions, chopped (optional for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger. Set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add beef slices and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Pour the teriyaki sauce mixture over the beef and bring to a simmer.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth, then stir into the skillet.
  6. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, if using.
  8. Serve hot with steamed rice or vegetables.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Use chicken or tofu as a beef substitute for variation.
