Scale
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into slider-size pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 12 slider buns
- 1 cup shredded lettuce or coleslaw mix
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tbsp Sriracha sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey to make the bang bang sauce. Set aside.
- Marinate the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Dredge the marinated chicken in the flour mixture, pressing to coat well.
- Fry the chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.
- Toast the slider buns lightly if desired.
- Assemble the sliders: spread bang bang sauce on the bottom bun, add a piece of fried chicken, top with shredded lettuce or slaw, and drizzle with more sauce. Add green onions if using, then the top bun.
- Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
Notes
- Use pre-cooked chicken tenders for a quicker version.
- Adjust the spiciness by changing the amount of Sriracha in the sauce.
- Can be made ahead and assembled before serving for parties.
