Easy Apple Turnovers are flaky, golden pastries filled with a sweet apple-cinnamon filling. Perfect for breakfast or dessert, these turnovers are quick to prepare and deliciously satisfying.

- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, mix diced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and flour. Set aside.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each into 4 squares.
- Spoon a portion of the apple mixture onto the center of each square.
- Fold the pastry over to form a triangle and press the edges to seal with a fork.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg and water to make an egg wash. Brush over the tops of the turnovers.
- Place turnovers on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
- Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best results.
- Turnovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in the oven for a crisp texture.
