Scale
- 1 package frozen hash browns, thawed
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced ham (optional)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup chopped spinach
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine the thawed hash browns with melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased pie dish to form a crust.
- Bake the hash brown crust in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Meanwhile, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
- Once the crust is done, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Then, layer the spinach, diced ham, cheddar cheese, and chopped onion over the crust.
- Pour the egg mixture over the ingredients in the crust, spreading it evenly.
- Bake the quiche for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and lightly browned.
- Allow the quiche to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute the ham with cooked bacon or sautéed mushrooms for a different flavor.
- If you prefer a vegetarian version, omit the ham and add more vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini.
- For a lighter version, you can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
