Scale
Cookie Bars Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 2 eggs
- â…“ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup Easter M&M candies
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 9×13 inch casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray and set it aside to ensure the bars won’t stick.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth and fully combined. Then gently fold in the Easter M&Ms and semi-sweet chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.
- Spread Batter: Transfer the cookie dough mixture into your prepared casserole dish. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to evenly spread it out into the corners and create a smooth surface.
- Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out mostly clean with only a few crumbs attached.
- Cool and Cut: Remove the pan from the oven and allow the cookie bars to cool completely in the dish. Once cool, slice into squares and serve as a festive, sweet treat.
Notes
- For best results, do not overbake to maintain a soft, chewy texture.
- You can substitute vegetable oil with melted butter for a richer flavor if desired.
- These bars store well in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Feel free to swap Easter M&Ms with any other candy-coated chocolates or sprinkles for different occasions.
- Allow the bars to cool fully before cutting to avoid crumbling.
