Description

A flavorful dry rub perfect for oven-baked ribs, combining sweet, smoky, and spicy flavors to enhance the meat’s natural taste.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together all the dry rub ingredients until well combined.
  2. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
  3. Generously coat both sides of the ribs with the dry rub, pressing it into the meat.
  4. Wrap the ribs in aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  5. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  6. Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  7. Optional: Unwrap the ribs, brush with BBQ sauce, and broil for 5-10 minutes for a caramelized finish.

Notes

  • Adjust cayenne pepper to control spiciness.
  • Store extra dry rub in an airtight container for future use.
  • Great for pork or beef ribs.
